St. Joseph Hospital's Day of the Dance!

St. Joseph Hospital is sponsoring "Day of the Dance," a Spirit of Women program. Bring your friends and family to dance, learn simple ways to stay healthy, enjoy music, participate in health, and be inspired to change your life! Also, enjoy a special appearance by "The Biggest Loser" contestants, Jerry & Estella Hayes.

Wine, juice, soft drinks and appetizers will be served. Grand prize raffle worth $500; other prizes include XBox 360 (plus Kinect with Dance Central and Kinect Sports), a day package, and other prizes. Admission is $25. Register early, space is limited!

Accepting Nominees for Cook County's "Unsung Heroines"
February 6, 2012

In recognition of Women's History Month, the Cook County Commission on Women's Issues will be sponsoring a breakfast on March 15, 2012 at which 17 women will be recognized as the County's "Unsung Heroines." A heroine will be selected from each of the seventeen Cook County districts to ensure that women from each area of the County are recognized for their extraordinary contributions to their communities. Nominees must be a resident of the County Board District from which they are nominated. They should be women who, either in a professional or a volunteer capacity, have made significant contributions to the well-being of their community for which they have not received widespread recognition. Elected officials are not eligible for consideration.
