Since joining the Cook County Board, Bridget has been a committed advocate for both women and children in jail, the most vulnerable in our criminal justice system. 

She fought for eliminating the practice of separating new mothers awaiting trail from their newborns, led to the fight to ban shackling pregnant detainees during delivery, created the first citizen advisory Board for the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center and continues to lead the fight to reduce the number of non-violent offenders in county jail.
